Vitamin D3

Slide 132  Vitamin D3 April 2013

Dr Joeseph Mercola and Dr Cannell MD support the use of Vitamin D to get over the common cold (or flu?)

Cannell MD is the head of the Vitamin D counsel

High dose Vitamin D3 can be used for short periods of time for colds and (flu?)

Dose: 1,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per pound of body weight.  Take for 3 to 7 days until symptoms disappear.  Can take one saturation dose and that might be all the person needs.

Example: The dose for a 150 pound person  is 150,000 IU per day

Availability: For high dose administration, 10,000 IU capsules are available.  Liquid Vitamin D is also available.  Liquid Vitamin D has 2,000 IU per drop in the liquid. Here is one with 1,000 IU that Liz is taking it tastes pretty good.

Vitamin D is very non-toxic.  Both Vitamin D and Magnesium, approximately 90 – 95% of Americans are deficient in. When a cold or (flu?) is indicative of either of these deficiencies, taking large doses to treat the deficiency can lead to recovery of the cold or (flu?)

Question:

Does it have to be taken all at once?

Answer:

KP said previously that Vitamins that are not water soluble do not have to be taken all at the same time, so it seems like for 150 pound person, taking several capsules throughout one day to reach the dose would be sufficient.  We can ask in class.  Also, if you have to buy it, the liquid drops would be much easier.
