Contraindications: bowel obstruction, severe constipation; take with adequate liquid; may delay absorption of oral drugs or herbs

Toxicity: immature seed pods can cause poisoning; large quantities of purging flax can cause fatal poisoning; overdoses can cause respiratory distress and paralysis
