Four Step Flu Routine

  1. Vitamin C – to bowel tolerance
  2. Zinc Lozenge
  3. Quinine sulfate or Cinchona Bark
  4. Herbal Anti-viral combination (Cubeb Berry, Cayenne, Rosehip, Garlic, or similar)

All work consistently and effectively together to combat cold and flu

Bacterial

Bacterial herbs are often combined:

  • Goldenseal (5 – 10/day)
  • Echinacea (5 – 10/day)
  • Garlic (maximum tolerance)

Gaia Herbs – combines Goldenseal and Echinacea

Yin Chiao

Yin Chiao is the #1 grandma remedy for the flu

It also goes by these names:

  • Yin Qiao Chie Tu Pian
  • Yin Qiao Jie Du Pian

Two main ingredients are:

  • Yin = Honeysuckle flower (jin yin hua) means gold and silver flower
  • Qiao (Chiao) = forsythia friut (lian qiao)
    • Chie (jie) = removing by dispersing
    • Tu (du) = toxins
    • Pian (Pien) = tablet

Yin Chiao (Yin Qiao) had a new formula created in 1798

  • Cooling formula – pathogenic heat (hot “colds”) – flu fever
  • Honeysuckle + forsythia clears hear
  • Individually, these two herbs clear heat from interior (chronic heat syndrome)
  • Together, clear heat from exterior (acute heat) – sweating
  • Platycodon + Licorice – for sore throat are in this formula also

H3 N2 flu virus

Hit everyone around Christmas time this year Dec 2012.

What worked for KP – Chinese formula Gan Mao Ling (means to catch a cold)  also made by Vadik, Bazaar of India in Berkeley.

Liz gets Zong Gan Ling (for severe colds or more advanced flu) and Yin Chiao (for first sign of cold and flu) from New Seasons by Dr. Shen of DrShen.com in Berkeley – made of ingredients grown in the USA.

Planetary Formulas makes it too.  Liz tested it compared to DrShen, and DrShen is better.
